I\u2019ve never written a review before, as I generally consider it a waste of time of my time, but wow this game was so \u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665ing awesome I had to post something. To give you a little background, I\u2019m a Fire Emblem fan through-and-through and I don't have time to play video games much anymore as I'm busy. When I saw this gem on the steam store though, I couldn't resist.I ended up completing the game on the hardest difficulty and unlocking both of the endings. In my opinion, the game\u2019s greatest strength is its small maps and smart AI. Instead of just throwing my strongest unit at the enemy, I had to you know, use tactics. Personally, I would suggest not playing it on the hardest difficulty, as a couple levels were super annoying. (I\u2019m looking at you John. Your little assassin buddies are \u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665t.)Story-wise, I really liked how the narrative progressed. I\u2019m not going to give any spoilers, but it made the later chapters feel more impactful as you were emotionally connected to the characters. There wasn't that much dialogue, but it was always high-quality and relevant. Sure this game has some flaws: a couple of sprites had the wrong hair color, 2 of the unit\u2019s in Abel\u2019s party were useless, and it crashed a couple of times trying to load a saved game (wasn\u2019t a big deal though as all I had to do was reload it from Steam). But here\u2019s the thing, in the end none of those things matter as I had a blast playing it.At this price it\u2019s a steal. If you love games like FE or other TRPGs, I would buy it. Immediately. This is a tactical rpg that is constantly getting updates that fix issues and improve the quality of the game over time. It is similar to what you would expect from an SRPG studio game in the early game, with two chapters being outright copies of the maps from the sample game SRPG Studio gives you to experiment with. Later on, however, the game grows in quality and becomes an enjoyable experience.The only serious negative I have is towards the stats in the game. The game doesn't explain any of them and the only reason why I figured which ones influenced which is because I had a copy of SRPG Studio and played a ton of Fire Emblem.Overall, I like this game. For such a low price, you get a decent tactical rpg with multiple routes.. Meh Its ok I guess? I would rather emulate Fire emblem 7 or 8 But this works. 6\/10 Some news: Hi everyone,I am still working on the game and there will be major changes to come.The most important change is the restructuration of the chapters:It will be :Tutorial-> Path A (Alliance) -> Path B (Battlefield) -> Path A bisUnlock Path C (Chaos): finish path AUnlock Path D (Democracy) : finish Path BUnlock path E (Enforcer) : finish Path A bisUnlock path F (Future) : finish Path CI finally understand the experience points formula and have adjusted it.It is nearly the same except you gain less exp for defeating leader, or using wands. When your level > enemy's level, you gain really less exp. It encourages player to play more characters and discourages power levelling. Many gameplay adjustment (Lv 22, weapons rank, reworked growth rates for characters, etc.). Better IA, when a enemy unit of a group engage battle, the group will automatically engage as well.Regards,David N.. In the current state, this game feels like an "honest" game but could be even better with more works put to it. And yes I will work on it until I am fully satisfied! Easier scenario 17 as the assassins and rangers squads have swaped their position and AI, assassins will only attack enemies in their range and it is also a lot easier to keep John alive if you want. I don't know japanese so I can't say much about the writing/scenario. But while I think that Kaga's games are a lot better than recents F♥♥♥ E♥♥♥♥♥ in term of characters/setting/writing. Kaga's approach to gameplay is so old fashioned and only aimed at hardcore gamers. In this day of modern gaming I think this is truly a mistake because you can make a hardcore yet accessible game at the same time, how? By proposing difficulties choices! But Vestaria Saga has none of it (though there is an option that gives you bonus stat for your characters). I was stuck and didn't finish it because the game was too hard and there is nothing more frustrating than that! Some ideas and new branching paths: Hi everyone,I know that I always say that I want to retire but I recently played a lot of JRPGs with a generation system and I thought that it would be nice to implement a path involving children of the characters.Here is my ideas:It involves the Path C where the cult of Brax wins, and I think it may be a little too dark even for my taste. Dark Abel enslaves and rapes girls (Ami, Rachel, etc.). Cain will be Abel's son, gameplaywise you will choose his mother, his stats and skills will depend of his mother. Issal and Sybil (which are siblings) will also have children (Sin and Blossom). Sarah will be Drazini's granddaughter and a light magic user. Finally David and Abigail's daughter will be Awan and also Cain main's love interest.Storywise, the children grew in the cult and developed a strong aversion for it. Especially Cain who have seen her mother defiled and violated at a young age. Drazini mastered the dark arts, found a time travel spell, but he strictly fordid its use. As you guess the children will use it to stop the cult of Brax and their parents even if it means that it will erase their existence.To be honest, I am busy right now and I have a lot of games to play so I guess it will have a very low priority but the game already feels complete.Regards,David N.. Another update and the end!?: Hi everyone,here is an update, the content are:- portrait of common enemies now has their battle sprite;- a line of description for important characters are in the character screen;- the skill Double Strike was bugged, it now works as intended and makes the game more balanced since it was useless in older version.- small adjustments here and there (a character has a new battle sprite).I haven't fully playtested it but since there are no major change, it should work and play well. Now concerning the ultimate difficulty "inferno". I still hesitate to add it since:- only half of the maps will be harder than the hard+ mode;- it will only appeal a very few gamer.I grow very tired of this project, I have tested it so many times that the experience become dull and annoying. The kickstarter is a failure and will be canceled. Finally there will be the return of the bundle of my two game!
